Some remnants of the old world lives and is resting on the arm of the couch. At least I think I'm seeing what we used to call a hardcover book made of real paper. :) Sign of the times...
yeah this is certainly relatable in my house as well. My daughters idea of playing together is chatting on their nintendo ds- back in my day it was board games or barbies ;)
LOL! I think that says a lot about our culture these days. What I also find funny is when people text each other and they are in the same house LOL. Great shot, Brad!
this is so great! i love matt's 'spot' of the book on the arm of the chair. a little shout-out to old-school ways to pass time! i have, however, been known to text a family member whilst in the same house, though...
Oh man, that could have been captured in my own home! Nathaniel doesn't have a DS yet but it is only a matter of time. We had actually talked about giving him one for Christmas so he doesn't feel left out when my brother comes over to play with my husband. LOL!
hey Brad- re my shot: I already know that the house is in need of restoration again! the windows have obviously been broken as they are boarded up, and the stain my father used was a deep "forest" green, but is now a soft almost pea green. NOT good- it was actually quite sad to see it like that. The trust that owns the home now use to rent it out for $800 a weekend, but I can't see anyone wanting to spend money to stay there right now. The home still has Rudyard's pool table and some other artifacts- big bummer!
haha, this is an all-too-familiar scene in our household as well.
i would be upstairs in my room (yes, our parents had a new house built but we still have our own rooms in their house) and my brother would IM me to say that dinner was ready. :p
Isn't it ironic, don't you think? Me and my husband are bad like that sometimes - chatting on skype from two different rooms in the house... It makes me think of another song line - "Are we human, or are we dancer?"
"Being cramped together in close quarters builds character." -Mom on a camping trip. That also happened to be the day when we had to set up camp in pouring rain. Yes if that doesn't build character, NOTHING will. :D
I really appreciate this photo....and I have had a very enjoyable time reading all the comments. The comments of all these 365 friends on family life today make much more sense than watching "The View" or some other talk show on TV.
Great theme though.
