Morning ride

Yesterday morning (Thursday) what a joy to view 6 balloons track south to north on the east side of the Melbourne cbd. The view from the balloons must have been spectacular. For me, the clouds make this image more exciting.

@robz Thanks for your feedback. It appears that air traffic issues in Brisbane have blunted the activity in Brisbane. Each balloon is registered as an "aircraft" and is subject to all regulations applicable to air trafiic.
I don't know the reasons Melbourne is able to allow the balloons to fly compared with other cities / towns in Australia.

@briaan Oh thanks so much for the article Brian - I'll have a read and see if I've got the details correct. The only reason I had the general idea was because they used to fly over our house at the GC, then about 10 years ago they suddenly stopped. There had been a couple of close calls with the balloons suddenly descending in an uncontrolled way....
Thanks for going to this bother I really appreciate it. And - don't they make a great photo!
