A Slice Of History

When my Father in Law died ,I was left this Union Civil War Sword.I often wonder if and how many lives it destroyed, a dark part of our history here in the USA.It is still in pretty good shape.Made in Chicopee Mass. in 1862 by Ames Manufacturing
One doesn't want to think of it's history - more of it's making! The ends would be so sharp as you have got it displayed here!

Maybe a great reminder to do better now. Although mistakes made in the past is n`t a guarantee we`ll do better in future .

A very good shot of the sword. I like your lighting on it.

Dreadful to think of "brothers" using such a weapon against each other.
