Look who came for a visit

This morning while sitting at the computer I saw this white movement in my peripheral vision. I grabbed my camera, called Hans to come out with me to investigate. there was this beautiful snow white rabbit sitting in our flower garden. Hans tried to grab him as we realized it must belong to someone and got away somehow..he chased it from our front garden to the neigbours to behind our house and finally caught him in his vegetable garden. we decided to keep him until we find the owner..Hans had this coldframe he used in the spring for his seedlings, it came handy as a temporary cover. we hope that someone will put a notice on a pole or a tree to ask if anyone found their lost rabbit.
You must have thought you were in Wonderland, Like Alice!

Great series of photos! I'm so glad you were able to catch him, as a family pet might not fare too well on his own.

@pyrrhula Oh I haven't even thought about that..maybe I find some kid who's allowed to keep it as a pet.

Well chances are someone finally realized it requires work to take care of him, and then left him run.

Love your collage, Bruni ... each photo tells the story! He looks pretty tame and must have an owner somewhere. A beauty! Love that capture of Hans feeding him. Great candids!

I love your collage, Bruni. How fun to have a rabbit visit you, but sad that it got away from someone. I hope the owners look for it or maybe you can put a note out or word out to neighbors to find out where it lives. Nice of you and Hans to take it in. What a beautiful bunny. I think it likes your garden. Cannot blame it.

@olivetreeann Hi..Yesterday we went to a mall, fairly big one too, they used to have a pet store there but no longer. we also looked into all kinds of grocery stores here where you can hang up flyers..I have the feeling that something isn't quite right .on our street about a week ago on the weekend my tenant picked up a good size cage with waterbottles and what have you. Hans not knowing knocked on the same house where they put it out. when Hans asked the lady she said we used to have a rabbit but it died and no thank you I don't want another one. I have a feeling the one I found only a few houses away from hers could be it. now Tom, that is the young man living in our apartment says if nothing comes up he'll keep it. he is good with animals.. his girlfriend who lives with him temporarly has a kakadu and he is nuts about her (the bird) and will miss the it more than his friend.

Looks like "Al" is better off without that crazy lady down the road.....

I presume his name is Peter!!!!

Dear Bruni. I promise you to try find out the historical explanation for the name `` Kattendijke `` Well , Ive mail to the city historian office and they told me , we don`t know exactly. There have been a convent at that place in AD 1100 and there has lived a noble family with the name `` Cattendijke`` in Zeeland but there are not knowing connections.
Convent are very frequently in our old history. Much of the impoldering of the land was done by monks

@bruni I am glad you figured out what happened with the rabbit and that your tenant, Tom will take the rabbit. Sad about the lady and what she did. Not that expensive to have one and she could have taken it to get a new home or given it away somehow instead of letting it go out on its own. She is not a very nice lady. Sad that people do things like this. So glad you and Hans are so caring as is your tenant. Great ending to this story.

Terrific story telling collage.
July 19th, 2012
@darsphotos Darlene I was guessing as it was all so coincidental with her getting rid of the cage..now Hans is telling me I should be more careful on the internet. and I guess he's right one never knows.. I had no actual facts as what happened..I don't know the people as they live a bit further down the street are are propably fairly new here.
July 19th, 2012
@bruni I know you do have to be careful on the internet, but we won't tell your neighbors about our suspicions! I'm glad you were able to rescue the rabbit. It's a shame when people don't care for animals....
