Our granddaughter Shayelynne with her beautiful horse Georgia.. I don't know if I would like to sit on the grass and have this big horse hanging over me like that. I know she doesn't have to worry though Georgia is so gentle and the love and trust between them is great.
Nice composition. But it would only take something to spook the horse and she could get hurt. My years on the farm with animals of all sorts and sizes: Never fully trust an animal you cannot physically knock away - i.e. bigger and/or stronger than you and never turn your back on them! I learned that the hard way. Horses are not too bad generally though, they seem to have some affinity with humans.
Anyway, a very nice shot!
@tonyjsisti Yes Toni it's really amazing..we're so hapy and proud of her that she hasn't lost interest yet. she likes to spend any free minute she has at the barn.
@catsmeowb Oh I didn't expect to get a fav. on this pictures. but it's really something how she trust her Georgia. Thank you so much Camille both for your nice comment and the fav.
@olivetreeann Yes you're right..especially since I know that some of the other girls couldn't handle this horse before Shayelynne managed to get along with her so well and the owner of the horse agreed to sell it to her when she saw how well suited the two were. oh my I'm talking her and her horse..wonder how I feel when she falls in love with a nice fellow. hopefully that's still a long way off.
i was thinking about this shot and how your grand daughter is sitting under her horse. I believe your title is absolute perfection. i often sat out in our field, on a log, when i was down in the dumps, and my horse Amy, would wander over to nudge me, nestle my shoulder, just give me love. if she was startled, she would turn the other way, not towards me. Every single time. She had a chicken that made a nest in her stall. she never once stepped on it. These are relationships built on TRUST - if they know you don't trust them, they don't trust you. Plain and simple.
Also 3 times thanks for the fav.
Anyway, a very nice shot!
I hope you're still on 365 then, to post pictures of her and 'a nice fellow'
;-)
