Taste of the Danforth is a yearly festival held in Toronto, Ontario in Canada in the Greektown area along the Danforth Avenue for a period of 3 days in August.
The festival began in when in 1994 a group of restauranteurs on the Danforth were trying to figure out how they could entice people to come to the Danforth and enjoy their amazing Greek cuisine. they decided that rather than advertising individually they would be better off pooling their resources and advertising together. they came up with the idea of "Tasting tables"- so that individuals could try food fare from a number of restaurants and about 5000 attended the festival in the first year and from there it grew to over 1.3 million attendants this year. people not only come for the excellent food but for the entertainment and culture. to track back, in 1996 it became necessary to block off Danforth road to accommodate all the people. so you can imagine parking spaces are difficult to find. lots of people including us took to the subway system. we left the car a the first subway station north of Toronto and with one transfer made it direct to Danforth Ave. close to Yonge Street. we try to attend every year.

@bruni I did not see the link, sorry. Just opened it and wow, what a lot of people. Totally crazy. I will check the other link as well. No problem at all with this one, Bruni.
@darsphotos Thank you Darlene. I'm sure that when I posted it I checked it out. I apologize, just wonder why no one mentioned to me that it didn't work.
