Hans and I took a drive along Lake Simcoe towards the next town north of us, which is called Sutton. when we came close to Georgina Island, the largest island within Lake Simcoe, I asked him if he could stop in a driveway as there is no parking on the road. I stepped out of the car, walked across the narrow road and took some pictures of the eastern tip of this island where you see some houses and behind of one of them the top of a lighthouse. it's privately owned and not in service.
a little history:
Georgina Island is the largest island within Lake Simcoe. it's 3 miles long and 2 miles wide and is a Native Reserve occupied by the Ojibwa people. it is also within the township of Georgina.
Keswick, where we reside. is also in the above mentioned township. For more historical information on the island, please click on the link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgina_Island
