All I see is green by bruni

All I see is green

...but no green dollar stickers on extra garbage bags today. every two weeks they pick up garbage, one bag is free and if you have more, each other bad requires a 1 Dollar sticker. every three month has a bag tag exemption week where you can put up to five items untagged. they even take large items as well. we had an old chest of drawers Hans used in his garden shed for storage. when cleaning out the shed he decided to get rid of this old thing. so we put it on the road. no-one picked it up. so today (redemption week) they pick any large items which can be crushed. while in the process of crushing it another truck came to pick up on the opposite side of the road. they don't usually meet like that and I thought I snap a picture of both.
all large items like fridge, stove, washer and dryer for instance get picked up once a month and requires that you call in ahead of time.
here is an interesting note:
DID YOU KNOW THAT THE ENVIRONMENTAL INDUSTRY IS THE THIRD LARGEST SECTOR IN CANADA AND COMPARABLE IN SIZE TO THE PHARMACEUTICAL AND AEROSPACE INDUSTRIES!
This is indeed an unusual and interesting capture. May Canada show the world the way in this area!

@pyrrhula Ferry, we also have a 3 way system. our blue recycling bin holds paper, pastic, glass, fibreglass, Styrofoam and more. kitchen stuff like food scraps, vegetable peal, fruit peal, eggshells, bones, skin, hair and much more go into a green bin for composting, and all other rubbish we put in blag plastic bags. these all get picked up. your systems is similar to the one in Germany. big items you had to pay for over there. here you can dump truck loads full at the special dumping station for a small fee.

What an interesting shot and sounds like they have it very organized and user friendly for those that live there. Would love not to have to take items to a special place to rid of them and have that opportunity more than once a year as we do though so many exceptions to that rule. Love all the greens you captured.

Great catch, Bruni! Not only did you get the green trucks but you have the green leaves too!! I am really glad I live in a place where we put our trash in a dumpster and they come and take it away once a week. The landlord foots the bill. Then once a week on Thursday they come and pick up recycling. Any large items here, we have to set by the dumpster and the maintenance man puts them in his pick up truck and brings them to the recycling center himself. That fact about environmental industry is very interesting! I had no idea! Thanks so much for sharing that!

Great capture Bruni. So interesting to hear how things are done in other parts of the world. We don't do too badly on recycling/rubbish disposal around my way but still need to improve!

Looks like they have a lot to keep them busy! We have been noticing new cans at a lot of the homes in our community. Come to find out that by switching to this company we are going to save quite a bit of money and keep all the same services. Yay for capitalism!
