The ice fishing season is almost over. March 15th is the deadline for getting the huts off the ice. yesterday I braved going through the slush in my running shoes, I had just came back from my 1 1/2 mile fast walk, to get closer to the lake at our park to take this pictures. the huts were further over to the other shore and with my small pocket camera this is the best I could do. one lonely snowmobiler (second from the left) was out there that I could see.
Looking at this scene it's hard to believe the winter weather is on its way out and the warmer weather which melts the ice is about to begin! Great shot- worth the slushy shoes I'd say!
Very nice shot, well composed and the scene gives us an indication of better weather to follow! 1 1/2 mile fast walk ... that's great and especially invigorating in colder weather.
Great shot of the ice huts and the ice fishing sport. It was nice but I think most of them are glad spring is coming now. @bruni I always told the children I teach : There are no stupid questions, just stupid answers . Both is possible. just to the need of it. Mostly for catching the water and move it from the land to the sea. I`ll show it in the next pic
Great capture of the last day on the ice!! We used to ice fish and I loved it, although at times the ice would creek and give me shivers. We would drive out on the ice in our cars and pull sleds or inner tubes behind with all of our friends screaming with delight!! Some times I wonder how we ever made it past our teens!! This is a great reminder of some wonderful years and some cold weather!!! Burr!!! FAV!
Thank you for the favorite, Kathy, it's very much appreciated. I'm so glad this picture brought back some happy memories for you. I don't like ice fishing, never have. I find it boring. I would much rather take the snowmobile and take off. oh my, but this goes back many, many years. the cold bothers me now and I'm getting a little too old for it..
A great capture, Bruni. Love the ice huts. Shows us a bit of what you see in your Winter. Wow, 1 1/2 miles is great. Sounds like you are feeling a lot better. FAV
