From snow to water to ice

Yesterday our neighbor's side yard turned into a lake, this morning it's a sheet of ice.
Good thing: the birds can fly to get to the feeder. how is Hans getting to them for a fill up.

I guess Hans will need a pair of those boots that have ice picks in the bottom soles, or maybe some ice skates!
