Is this an iris

I have two bunches of these beautiful flowers on each side of the end of my driveway. had intended to just take a picture of the one stem, but decided against it and to show the unopened two as well. Looks best on black.

Today is the day of my Granddaughter's Bridal Shower. I'm so glad it's at her aunt's place here in Newmarket. Britney lives in Sarnia, Ontario and it it would take us hours to get. the wedding is going to be in her former home town at a country club in Bobcaygeon. it's going to be three day affair.

yes, i believe it is a bearded one. after it is more opened, look to see if it has tiny little "hairs" and if so, it is. love the color of them. great shot, Bruni.

That is one name for them, the other that I grew up with was "Flags". Don't know why, but that was always what my mother called them.
