Our neighbors came home from a camping trip an put up their tent right between our two properties.
I know we had rain the last few days and I don't think they thought of extending their vacation here on the side yard, ha ha. I took this picture through the kitchen window. well yes, I know they put it up to dry and air out. it was interesting though to see how they folded it all up into a relatively small package and fitted it into a small carrying bag.
Oh, I thought they enjoyed camping so much that they wanted to continue it at home but I can see that it is a good idea to dry it out! Those brown things attached to the tree trunks - are they to stop animals climbing up?
@maggiemae Yes, you got it right. that's our tree. a Russian pine. unfortunately its dying. the metal cones around are for the squirrels not to get at the feeders, but they find other ways to get up there and empty them. as much as I love their antics, they are a big nuisance.
Nice capture. Interesting the lengths you have to go to, to keep the squirrels away. Here to encourage the reds we do everything we can including the two special squirrel feeders I have that the birds can't get in.
