Ditch around our garden by bruni

Ditch around our garden

I've mentioned how much rain we had in the last few days including today. when we had that torrential downpour last Saturday, within minutes the ditches around the property where filling to the point of overflowing. this little bit of green is at the end of our small flowerbed close to the road.
Looks like you had some serious rain. Great shot. We had some good rain here lately, too.

Looks very wet, hope it gives over soon for you. I know the feeling of none stop rain well living in the north of the UK.

Hope the water is receeding

Wow. It looks as if the ditch has become a brook! You should try and fish out of it and see if you get a bite. Nice capture of it!

You will be watching and looking at the forecast! Any sandbags, handy?

I feel very sorry for you, I know what it is like to see the water levels rising, and not to be able to do anything.

Awesome shot

@kerristephens @peterday @maggiemae @prttblues @dawnee @shirleybankfarm @gijsje @bkbinthecity @mittens Thanks you all for commenting on our heavy rain fall. it hadn't rained for so long and the earth was so dry that the water receded in a short while. more rain after that, but not as severe. what a difference in temperature, it almost feels like fall now.

good capture, Bruni. we are having soft rains today and hopefully, for the next few days, also. we, too, have been having the kind of rains you had and they only cause damage since the ground is too dry to absorb the so-needed water. are you in drought conditions? most of our area is.

That's a lot of rain ☔

@catsmeowb Hi Camille. to your questions. no we don't have any drought in our area. restrictions to watering lawns, cars, etc. only two days apart. most people don't bother to water their lawns anyway. we water our flowerbeds and individual potted plans.

@bruni our area is not in a drought, either, but many parts of vermont are. the rains this week have helped but flooding has still happened - the roads and bridges are being damaged.

@catsmeowb Gee you must've had a lot more rain. I can only speak of our area, not of the rest of Ontario.
