Had a busy day today so this is a filler from last week's holiday. It goes with a poem I penned while I was there.
Sitting in a cafe in the last rays of the sun,
Winter's almost with us, Autumn nearly done.
Lively buzz of conversation, foreigners and locals too,
Lover's touching, people watching, smiling faces, don't know who.
Waiter always busy, taking orders here and there,
Collecting dishes, wiping tables, putting back that wayward chair.
Later, walking by the water, waves are breaking on the shore,
Picking up some tiny treasures, pebbles, sea-glass, shells and more.
Sitting on the rocks and watching sailing boats and setting sun
slowly dipping down behind the mountains..... going..... gone.
Packing up and draughty stations, train delayed but soon on board,
Photographs and travel diaries - holiday memories safely stored.
@judithg Thanks - not really, I dabble in lots of things but I'm not really good at anything. Like most of us I suspect. I need to break away from the rhyming poetry style.
