It's a tradition in our family - the ritual of making marmalade in January. My Mum used to make it, and so did my Mother-in-law. The oranges are only available at this time of year, and it cheers up the dark winter days. We make enough to last the year and some to give away.
Mmmmm! My mother used to make it too, but I'm ashamed to say, I've gone lazy and use the already prepared sevilles any time of the year my marmalade runs out! Lovely collage.
Great collage, I like the background, well done for doing all that shredding! I do love marmalade and a friend of mine makes it so I have a jar as a present from her.
We were on the receiving end of a jar - it looks fun to make but I don't like it - my husband was very grateful for the donation though! I like your presentation here - it's great!
Great collage! And like a few others my mum used to make it too! Haven't done it myself for years and don't think it will be this year though I'd like to have a go some time.
Did you know you could freeze the oranges and make it later. Mum used to do that. With her arthritic hands it is now too much but she still uses the tinned ready variety of oranges!
Thanks for all your interesting comments @moirab I agree they look like clementines - they were larger and juicier than usual this year. @sarah19 No I didn't know you could freeze them but I suppose it makes sense.
Wow! What a wonderful collage. So fresh looking & delicious.
To answer your question about the monsterio delicio, it has a sweet taste, very delicious & tropical. When it is ripe, little segments can be pulled out from the centre stem.
lovely capture to mark all your hard work and delicious results. it's interesting to see your preserving jars .. a bit different from ours. great collage.
