Diddington Church by busylady

Diddington Church

Another grey damp day today with no photo opportunities - I'm busy decorating! The church of St Laurence at Diddington was built in the 12th century in the park of Diddington Manor. It's a picturesque spot, especially in the late afternoon sun of a couple of weeks ago.
Lovely building and light! What effort and vision the planners and builders of these churches had in their day!

It's amazing how they built churches like this because they didn't have the modern day tools and often took years to build. This is lovely with the light shining on it and the framing sets it off

I like the mellow stonework. And the old gravestones.
