Wood turning by busylady

Wood turning

My husband is a bit of an amateur wood turner. This yew log came from a friend's garden and he is busy turning it into a bowl for our daughter, Katherine. I love to see the patterns in the wood emerging. Yew is a particularly beautiful wood to turn.
That is just wonderful and all the amazing grains and patterns must tell so many stories. Very clever husband!

What a talent to have! Your collage shows the stages very well, I love the warm glow and patterns in the yew wood.

I love this showing the stages in the journey of the wood from raw material to near finished item to be treasured. A great skill indeed.

Just my kind of thing, I love to see all the knots and grain of the wood, I also love the smell of the wood being cut/chiselled/turned. Nice collage, I like how you have shown the stages of creation.
