Swans and floods

Once again the park in St Neots is under water. This is the entrance to the children's play area, where the swans were swimming about freely inside.
Yikes, that is some serious flooding. It's a lovely shot!

A beautiful composition. Any sign of the floods receding there yet? The river here has now started to drop, and is less than 3 metres above normal, so it is pretty much within its banks again.

@if1 We didn't go down today - this was taken yesterday, so I'm not sure. However, I sent my husband down to the allotment to get a red cabbage on Christmas Eve. He had to wade through two inches of water just to get to the gate. The water was about 12 inches up his wellies where the red cabbages were growing! Was it worth it I wonder?

Funnily enough when we were discussing relatively dry walking venues I said, 'St Neots is no good!'

@judithg Well the paths are OK but the park is very much a no go zone.

At least the swans appreciate it!

Lovely shot and I like how you have picked up the red gate in the frame. It's pretty flooded round here too

Oh my word. Getting sick of washing jeans and dog towels but at least we don't have it this bad!
