No-one was using the seat to take in the view this morning, although plenty of dog-walkers were discussing the latest floods. The line of grasses, centre right shows the far bank of the river, so you can see just how far the floods extend beyond that. The river was very fast flowing so we must have had some heavy rain overnight. This flat area is designed to flood when the sluice gates are opened higher up the river, as it prevents villages flooding further down the river.
