Postal scale by busylady

Postal scale

Another bitterly cold day so it's an inside job today. This old postal scale used to be in Peter's family home. I'm not sure how old it is. I've given the brass work a polish but it's a fiddly piece as there are lots of small parts. I can understand why they used to have servants to polish the brass - or was it the silver? You may be able to read the wording if you view large but if not it says 'Not exceeding 1oz 1d'. and so on. For those of you in other parts of the world, 1d meant one penny. The weights are 4oz, 2oz and 1oz.
very beautiful scales lovely frame around the photo Judith I agree with you about this weekend's weather Its been freezing best place Is in the warmth.

Oooh playing post offices was very popular in our house. This is lovely! I've been tempted to buy a new longer coat but it seems daft at this time of year - I'm fed up of cold!
