Yes it's still going strong. This is the famous apple tree under which Newton was sitting when the apple fell and started him thinking. The top part of the tree was blown off in the 1800's but regrew from the base. Newton was a deep thinker who liked his books and his own company. After studying at Cambridge he returned home because of the spread of the plague and spent time in this house where many of his discoveries were made. The house makes a fascinating place to visit and would suit children from 5 - 95! Thanks to all for your happy birthday messages to Peter - he was touched.
@judithg Well I was just thinking that you'd sold me a right line there! He did live at Trinity I suppose. my friend John's grandad had his old rooms... Very pretty house too.
