The Seville oranges are in the shops once again and we're making an early start this year as we will be in NZ for most of the marmalade making season. It takes about 3 hours to complete one batch of oranges and you can see the jars from yesterday's session in the background. We need to make quite a few batches to last us a year - last year we ran out in December! I think we gave too many jars away!
The colours in this shot are perfect for the subject of marmalade and I really like the composition. My mum always made marmalade, but it's not something I've ever done.
Such a lovely shot and lovely aroma in the house while making the marmalade and most of all the fresh taste of a home made marmalade You are so industrious Judith
What a lovely warming photo......and haven't you been busy! I haven't made marmalade for years as we hardly use it and often get some from my mum......but this is quite inspiring.
Enjoy New Zealand. Our daughter Laura (and Iain) had a wonderful week there before Christmas .....they had 'hopped over' from Melbourne! And Pat @happypat is excited about her trip too!!
