Nature at it's best

The artichoke flowers have opened out this week and seem bigger than ever. The bees love them but this was taken late evening and there was only one bee out. A very large black one with an orange tail. It's been too hot to work on the allotment during the day hence the evening visit. (Apologies to Jo who commented on my first picture which wasn't I deleted.)
