This castle on the hill high above Murol was built in the 12th century and extended in the 14th century. Owned by several French families, it was eventually abandoned and fell into disrepair in the 18th century, when stones were removed for building work. A most interesting visit with some rooms partly furnished, and many local schoolchildren enjoying the castle today
