All of a sudden the apples are ripening and falling off the tree in the garden. I have a really good allotment gardener's cookbook which gives recipes for things you may have a glut of. I found this recipe for what is essentially a French apple flan. It has almonds in the sweet pastry and was delicious.
as soon as i saw this delicious 'pudding' it reminded me of the 'Tarte tatin' we used to enjoy when holidaying in france...delicious with a lovely scoop of vanilla ice cream :)
