Pancake Rocks blowhole

The Pancake Rocks at Pounakaiki are a popular tourist site along the west coast of New Zealand. Again we have been lucky with the weather, this time because it was wet and windy! The best time to visit is at high tide when there is a high sea. The resulting huge waves came crashing into the tunnels and caves beneath our feet, pounding up the sides of the rocks and puffing out of the blowholes. If you stand on the walkway adjacent to the blowhole you get pretty wet so it's not easy to keep the camera dry. On top of that it was raining!
How exciting. Great shot. Thanks for taking us along.
