Fungi in the forest

This looks like something I'd find on a hike in the woods... but I actually was picking rhubarb at my in-laws today, in town. When I spotted this stump covered in giant mushrooms. It was in the back corner of their yard, surrounded by leaves, and the ground was covered in violets that are about to bloom.
