As a tribute to veterans, a member of our church drove his 1942 Ford Command Reconnaissance Truck to church and displayed it with a sign of appreciation for our veterans. "Although Willys won the contract for the Jeep design, the War Department was wary of sabotage at the Toledo, Ohio plant. Ford was ordered to produce the identical vehicle and manufactured 277,896 Jeeps during 1942-1945." As part of our church service, there was a very touching video honoring our veterans and recognition of the veterans that were present. To any of you who are veterans or members of families of veterans, I say a heartfelt 'thank you' to each and every one of you. My husband served in the Air Force during peace time before I knew him, willing to serve. Today I am thankful for freedom.
