Taken at the weekend when we went to look at the “table for the nation”. It’s not often that you see the big main doors open.

@beryl @sandlily according to Mr Google, Lincoln cathedral has never had pews. In older times people stood, though apparently there were stone ledges built into the walls of the nave, where the elderly or infirm could sit. Also the church is used for things other than services, so it provides a large open space. We saw a production of “Jesus Christ Super Star” there some years ago , which was fabulous.
