Another Lincoln photo today. This is Lincoln High street, though it is now pedestrianised, traffic many years ago used to travel along this road. I have even seen an old picture which shows a bus coming through the arch of the Stone Bow. The Stone Bow was a Guild Hall / Civic building at one time. Many an assignation has been sealed with a meeting under the Stone Bow clock!
The chap in dark clothing on the left was a street singer & rather a " high brow" one at that. He was singing things like " Bring him Home" from Les Miserables, " Funiculi Funicular" & "Nessun Dorma" etc. So in essence a typical City weekend scene.
It looks very busy, so many people. There used to be a great hardware shop just down on the right of this picture many many years ago. Probably long gone now though.
@ludwigsdiana thank you Diana, it probably looks a bit narrower than it actually is, but it was a two way road. @louannwarren Thank you Lou Ann, he was amazing, far too good for busking! @milaniet Thank you Milanie @suzanne234 think they were actually videoing him. @fbailey Thank you. @boatman137 Thank you Shirley. @30pics4jackiesdiamond nah, videoing the singer. @phil_sandford Thank you. @lovingandsharing Thank you, shame they are unaware of their infamy! @happysnaps Thank you, think they were videoing the singer - he was very good! @rjb71 Thank you Richard for your fav & comment - made me laugh! @beryl Thank you Beryl. @onewing hardware shop long gone I would say. It's mainly clothes shops & card shops in the area you are indicating. I'm sure you would notice a lot of changes Babs.
