This is taken from the ramparts of the castle. I like the way you can see all the higgledy piggeldy roofs in the foreground. This is the Bailgate area & to live in the Bail, as locals call it, is to be quite affluent, it has little bespoke shops & if you have to ask the price, be assured that you can’t afford it! The area is full of history, dating back to the Romans. The cathedral, occupies a lofty position & can be seen for miles around. There is always scaffolding on some part of it, because preservation or restoration is a constant on going thing.
