Tennyson Corner

Spent a couple of hours with Phil & a couple of ex army colleagues in the Bailgate area of Lincoln this afternoon. This was taken on the way back to the car park this evening. The statue of Poet Laureate, Lord Tennyson stands towards the back of the cathedral & I have taken this shot several times before.

i'd love to see this statue as I see GF Watts' plaster model that the cast was made from fairly regularly . that sky looks horribly ominous over the cathedral

@maggiemae She’s quite a sight on a hill above the city. Ground breaking started in 1072 & building was between,1185 - 1311.
The association with Tennyson is that he was a Lincolnshire lad.born in Somersby.
