Signs of spring in Italy? Those glowing oranges are nicely accented by the deep green leaves.

@jyokota No Yunko, no sign of springtime yet! The Syberian storm brought snow until three days ago and now it’s raining and raining. That is in Northern Italy. The South is another story and temperatures south of Rome are above 10’C, although it rains in several locations.

@caterina -- yes, I have heard of the Siberian winter in Europe this year. I don't know if you saw my message but I have decided to go to Bologna, and I will be there from March 22 - 29.

@jyokota I have seen your message and I hope we can meet for a coffee maybe? The weather might improve greatly in the next few days. As we say Marzo pazzerello…

When I first saw this photo on my phone, I thought it was a great picture of tomatoes! Then I took a close look and saw it was a great photo of oranges. On Orange Day. What else... So I thought I'd wait till I could check it out on the monitor to comment properly. And while it is a lovely spotted photo. And the color is perfect. There is something about it that is not quite as satisfying as most of your photos. The light and tones and colors are perfect. So kudos for those. I think where it wants some thoughtful consideration is in the compostion and the focus. Looking at it larger on my monitor, I feel like my eye doesn't know where you want it to go. The focus seesm to be in the upper right hand corner, but so much of the foreground is out of focus. But I can't figure the reason for that. The oranges themselves all seem to have equal weight in the composition. I kind of want them all to be in focus. And here, we only see part of the basket. It might be more satisfying to see the whole basket. Then the basket, as an entirety, could be the focus of the photo. Rather than miscellaneous individual oranges. Did you have a particular place in the photo that you wanted our eye to go to? What was it? And why did you choose that place? It's your job to lead the viewers eye and attention to where you want it to go. We should be in your total control. I like much about the photo. Usually, your photos are so strong, there's not much that I can suggest, except for you to frame them. Please let me know what you think about my comments. I hope they were helpful.
