@golftragic I know Marnie, I was in the UK once in November and I was really impressed by all the poppies as symbols of remembrance and all the ceremonies . It is very important to remember, but Italians seem to forget the past. The 25th of April was the anniversary of liberation from nazifascism, obtained at the price of much blood, but in the town in the Dolomites where we were there wasn’t any kind of celebration. When I asked why they answered me that it is old story (1945!!!) I was appalled
@caterina Oh, that's very sad to hear of people's short memories. Italy went through terrible times in 1944-45. I'm apalled too. As someone wise once said, those who forget history are condemned to re-live it.
