Thank you Scott Kelby!
We went to Coney Island tonight in 97 or so degrees to see the Balloon Glow and fireworks. I read up ahead of time because I had never attempted fireworks before. I did exactly what Scott said and was very pleased with the result.
Not so much the Glow. They light them up for so many seconds and stop. So I never did get the settings quite right. I got some decent shots but not quite what I had hoped for. But the wide angle lens is a champ on something like that. I could walk way up and get a bunch of balloons and other folks were way back.
Happy Independence Day.
Missed going tonight. My daughter was sick today. Great fireworks shot. Hope to go next year and hopefully know the proper settings so that I can get a good shot of the glow quick. That sounds tough.
Very nice job! Love the colors against the black! I attempted my first fireworks last night as well...I did not get as close to the action as you seem to have here. Maybe I will tonight!
Great capture, Cathy. . .I left before I could get discouraged about not having the settings right for the fireworks!! What is your new lens? I loved having my wide angle for the balloons, too!
@cscecil Thank you. @skipt07 I have a remote shutter and the directions said to snap the rocket - and I did! @kchuk Thank you. It was fun. @amandalomonaco I'm sure there are fireworks all over town this evening if your daughter is feeling better. @marlboromaam Thanks Maggie. @wannabe The balloons were more difficult for me..... @karenann Thank you so much karenann @pawar_ramesh Thank you Ramesh.
