This may not look like a doorway to some of you. But to me - I am so waiting for it to open so that I can walk through to Spring. My lilac is budding! This lilac was here when my parents bought this house in 1951. It is older than I am! It has mostly delighted me all of my life. I love the smell of lilacs - how it comes in my kitchen window when this beauty is blooming. I remember the lilac in reference to my grandmother that lived with us when I was a child, my mother who loved it, and occasionally sent me out to get my "own" switch for her to use on my legs (lightly - I was hardly beaten), and now Tom and I who tend it lovingly. It had a little something going on a couple of years ago and he took the branch to a nursery to get the right medicine. It won't be too long until it is covered in blooms. So, for today, it is my "doorway" to Spring.
Fav photo lovely story too. I am with Miley this cold spell has gone on too long Cold grey weather be glad to see a warm spell if we get one here in the Uk.
Hooray, Cathy - it's just lovely and i know exactly what you mean. That little tiny bit of sunlight that peeked through after all the rain today just lit up a couple of my Lenten Rose flowers out back. While I was mucking around out there, I started noticing the buds everywhere!
Very pretty! I transplanted some last year and they actually bloomed late in the summer, so I hope they won't wait that long this year! I love your interpretation of this word!
Beautiful shot and great focusing. I thought we were in Spring already but the weather forecasters have said we're in for a bad spell again for the week-end.
