This shot really has nothing to do with my day.
Today is my baby's 37th birthday. He is not fond of cameras - so I didn't make him go through having a birthday photo taken. We started the day in church where I embarrassed him by saying in Joys and Concerns that it was his birthday so the congregation sang to him! He sat here this afternoon grading papers while I read his new venture on writing prompts that he is going to try and sell. All of these school loans are going to come crashing down on his head very soon - so I asked him if he was happy. The smile said it all. He is doing what makes him smile and fulfills him. If he never writes the next great novel I think he will find great joy teaching. He's never going to make a lot of money. But that has never mattered to him. I raised a good man.
Absolutely gorgeous image and sentiment! I too have spent most of my weekend grading papers and planning lessons, wondering about my grad school loans. But I couldnt imagine a day without "my" kids. Happy Birthday to your baby!
Beautiful capture of this lovely bug, and great colors. Love your sentiment and analysis of your son's fulfillment of life. You definitely raised two good men even if they are different from each other. Happy birthday to your baby son!
Happy Birthday to your son. And, yes, mom--you definitely raised a great son!!!!
