Spotlight

Asking for some feedback on this one. Anybody that looked at my photos yesterday knows it was raining buckets in Cincinnati and I spent the time between storms out with the dogs, the camera and the roses. So last night out I went with a little flashlight and shot this with the camera flash off and lit it up with the light. I liked how it turned out but think I need a penlight or something as I couldn't keep from blowing out the top of the rose. Any suggestions??

Could you perhaps diffuse the light with something, like a plastic milk jug? The droplets turned out great.

Do you have a tripod? If, so you can use a softer/dimmer spotlight and do just fine! Beautiful color, Cathy!

@marlboromaam I do have a tripod that I use for night shots but I was trying for a spotlight effect. I need to think of something besides a flashlight.......
