I posted a very grim selfie last week for "ashes" after going to church on Ash Wednesday. I looked pretty much like I had escaped from treatment somewhere. So, yesterday, on my birthday, I decided to get out the tripod and try to really take my own picture. It was much more difficult that I thought it would be. I got half a head, no head, then, somehow, a really good shot of my hips. But I kept at it until I got this. Not quite as close to a convict shot.
Oh this is so lovely. I did see the other shot but couldn't comment on it as I really didn't know what to say...sorry! Selfies are hard aren't they. I am never able to smile, even though in real life I'm quite a smiley person. You've managed a lovely smile and you look so young and pretty xx
I think that this is a lovely selfie, Cathy! I find selfies to be tough to...that's why I am trying them a bunch this year...to get them right. Happy Birthday, too, sweet lady!

First of all- Happy birthday! Secondly, selfies are hard but this one is really nice! I try to avoid them so I am always impressed when someone does one. Nice shot!
Love this pic! I thought your narrative was really droll and I can totally sympathize with it. Selfies are never easy to do. I think that you need a lot of "selfie-confidence" like @mariyakey in her http://365project.org/mariyakey/self-project album.
