My nephew played his final game at Sycamore High School last night - and I got to try out the used lens that I bought that was supposed to be good for sport's photography. I impressed myself - not really, it is all camera and lens. But I got some good shots - not always of Cody as I couldn't find him. His uncle is the Assistant Athletic Director and he got Tom and I down on the field. I have a ways to go with battling lighting on these night football games but it was a lot of fun - except the freezing part!
A perfect group of sportsmen in a beautifully composed, although it must have been by chance, group....such clarity with no hint of movement you should be well pleased with your lens Cathy.
@worthitall It's not me it's the lens. It is a 2.8mm 70-200 that I got used and I think it may be worth every penny. It is so big that I have to use a monopod or I drop on every shot.
Fab shot! That's the lens that I've been thinking of getting, but I think the weight may be too much. May have to try the f4 - it's supposed to be much lighter. I have a monopod, but prefer to shoot hand held.
@timandelke I love it. The monopod is surprisingly easy to use for this sort of photography. I can handhold it - but not for long. It is just too heavy and my old hands have a tendency to let it dip.
