A Pair

Spring Grove now has a new pair of swans in the lake. I was so excited to see them. I have been told that swans will stay at whatever lake they fly from first. These two are gorgeous. Wish I knew how to tell male from female. I do miss my old guy.
Beautiful reflections and shot. Fav

this is a beautiful pair of mute swans. our swans are gone. in the spring they had 5 chicks. when we came back three weeks ago there were only 4 young ones left. then the last 10 days they're not at the pond anymore. a lot of people are upset. i read that the pair would leave their nest when something happens to all their little ones. you can tell the male by the black knob at the top of their beaks, the male's big and protruding, the female not so, plus the male is the much larger of the pair. they aren't a protected specie here.

FAV Beautiful. They remind me of the swans at Bok Tower GArden before they were removed because of "bad attitudes toward the paying cutomers". ;-)
