Almost Empty Mall by chejja

Almost Empty Mall

An unusual sight- This is Sawgrass Mills Mall in Sunrise, Florida. It is one of the largest malls in the United States, and the largest one-story mall in the U.S. with 2,370,610 square feet of retail selling space (Yes, you read that right, over 2 million sq. feet), including more than 350 stores and 15 restaurants. Since it was raining all day, my husband and I went to the mall to walk, pick up a couple of items, and just get out of the house for a little while. Usually the mall is full of local people and bus loads of tourists who come to shop from all over the world. It is not unusual to see international tourists pulling suitcases from store to store, shopping for clothes and items to take back to their countries. But, not today, this is what the mall looked like around noon. To be honest, there were a few more people later in the afternoon, but nothing like it used to be. It did feel safe though since there were so few people, and everyone who was there was wearing a mask and socially-distanced.
Glad to hear all are taking the masking and social distancing seriously. That's the only way to help these stores survive.

It has a dystopian feel to it, lovely shot but slightly eerie.
