Key Lime Pie

I have a sweet tooth. I also get fixated on a item and order it every chance I get. My current fixation is key lime pie (and by current, I mean the last couple of years). This photo is of a key lime pie I ordered as take out following dinner with a friend. It was so pretty I had to take a picture. It was also very yummy (although I’m not a fan of zest).

Last year, I discovered a local bakery that makes an amazing key lime pie but they only make it seasonally so I would often stop by to discover that it wasn’t being offered. I grew frustrated by this so I learned to make them myself…even going so far as to order key lime juice directly from the Key West store. I still order it if it’s offered given that it’s not a very common menu item.

Uh, yeah. I am right there with you on some Key Lime Pie! I even have a great recipe for some Key Lime Cake that I have made 2-3 times.
