For every large group of statues there is a smaller one for children. They are burnt an hour before the large ones. I.e. At 11pm instead of midnight. With that and the firecrackers, the noise is deafening!
@tremerryn@susiemc yes they are burnt. There is a museum in Valencia where the best ones through the ages have been kept, but most are burnt. At one time it was the only way to show displeasure with politicians and /or policies.
