Today’s color is scarlet! After researching it, found out that it’s traditionally the color of flame, or fire. Wasn’t able to get the fire the color I wanted but the hot sauce and overall hue of the photograph is scarlet enough.
Actually had the idea for this photo in mind for a while and finally decided to go for it! I used a lighter and a long shutter speed. The cool thing about a long shutter speed is the movement of my hand and lighter disappeared but the stream of the flame was captured creating a very hot shot!
@httpgeffed - Thank you Colleen! It was actually easier to do than it seems it just took a lot of patience. Shooting over and over until I got a good shot :)
@bkbinthecity - Glad you liked the shot bkb! Thanks!!
@alia_801 - Thank you very much! Scarlet was a tough one to figure out at first.
@mace508 - Haha my family thought I was gonna burn the house down too...but tried to be careful. Thanks much for the kind words Mace!
@kimshots - Thanks Kim, glad to know that! I was afraid it would be scarlot enough so I made sure to use a white balance that gave it a more 'orangy' color.
