Tried a bit of intentional camera movement (ICM) to create an abstract shot today. Used a pillow and since it had a few groves and deeps the stripes didn't turn out as smooth as I wanted but I did like the colorful, painting-like look. Going to have to practice this a bit more :)
I like the brightness and the angles that are formed within the stripes. I guess that's from the folds you mentioned but it works well for me as an intentional way of creating pattern.
