What's wrong...seeing double? That's right I'm doing the letter "D" again for my Technique Alphabet theme. There's only 26 letters and 31 days so thought it'd be ironic to double up on the day I try double exposure.
Speaking of which, you were probably seeing double due to the photograph and not my awesome justification. Here I combined two images: One of a real flower and one of a little Lego flower. This technique can be done by merging two photo together in post-processing or, like I did, using the multiple exposure setting located in some cameras.
Now the real question is: can you tell the real from the fake? Don't worry, it should be super easy! ◠‿◠
I wish I could do double exposure in camera! Mine won't do it and i still struggle with the technique in post processing! you seem to have a great grasp of it! I think the larger flower is the real one!
@grammyn - Thanks Katy!! It's not an easy technique to do and I'm still learning. I found out that sometimes the subject plays a part. The lego flowers are against a white background which looks pleasing with the other photo which is slightly darker. But practice and lost of trial and error are involved.
This is interesting Chris - is this the photo that CJ shot in yesterday's shot? :) My camera doesn't do double exposure either, and like Katy I struggle in post processing, but I will learn eventually. And I love the movie Inception! This does look like a dream within a dream... :)
fantastic!!! the amazing thing is when I move the screen on my laptop back and forth it changes from one shot to the other (when its back its the big flower and when its forward its the little flowers) super cool fav
@kerosene - Haha yep it's his flower. Good observation skills on the flower and my crazy tags! Keep up the practice and I'm sure you'll get a fun double exposure. I'm learning there are so many ways to do them too!
@cruiser - Thanks Chris!! Your explanation reminds of drawings that change from one thing to another depending on how you look at it. Glad to know I accomplished that a bit in this photo.
