(Day 102) - Ripple Effect

Wanted to see what would happen if I photographed ripples with marbles under the water. I was going for strong, clearly define ripples, but ended up with this strange, almost kaleidoscope-like effect. Cool!! :)

Truly appreciate all the awesome feedback you guys have been leaving on this series. Thank you so much. I'm a bit behind on commenting but hoping to catch up on the upcoming 3 day weekend. :)
You have such a creative mind, Chris! This looks like an abstract painting of the sort Ikea or a high end children's store would sell for room decoration! Seriously! Not that it might earn you a dime, but we're on our way to see our daughter in MA who designs rooms for Land of Nod, and I'll be curious to see what she thinks of this! Terrific!

Another stunning shot and the creativity is so fab. It reminds me of a kalidascope

What a marvelous concept, Chris. If you had shot it in square mowed it would look exactly like a kaleidoscope. Still it is an amazing picture. I have no idea how you accomplished this

Absolutely magnificent. I am in awe and, like Katy, have no idea how you did this! Stirring the water, catching the movement...but no blur. I bow to you!

@granagringa - Ummm I don't really know how either! Basically I just dropped a few drops of water unto the surface of the water and as I took many photos, one of them turned out like this by chance.

What an interesting capture you got, it pays to play around like this, the colours and the light are amazing. It does remind me very much of a kaleidoscope, I used to love looking in those as a child.
