(Day 20) - Collision Course

I'm revisiting marbles this week on my project. They're such fun subjects to shoot...literally.

I've always had trouble capturing the motion of shooting marbles so decided to practice today. I must have rolled that one marble countless of times in burst mode. Still wasn't sure if I got anything until looking through the photos on my computer and saw this one! Yay! :)
Great title for this, and good capture of motion especially in the striped marble on its way to hit the group.

Perfect timing, and you must have the patience of a saint.

Wonderful colours and well done catching the marble in motion. You have more patience than me.

Great colourful image. I love that you were able to capture the motion.

that is astonishing (and so cheerful)

I love the composition... how you clustered the marbles at the very bottom of the pure white image. So effective. This is something I could stare at without getting tired. But maybe that's just because my world is so colourless at the moment. ;-)

Very cool! I love how colourful it is. You should put this on canvas it would give a nice punch to a room.

Terrific blurred motion shot! I've tried motion blur shots with dice and billiard balls so I can totally identify with having to roll what seems like hundreds of times before capturing a decent blur. I really like your timing in capturing the motion marble just as it is hitting the group of marbles. Well done! :-)

I appreciate all your hard work to make this happen so perfectly Chris. The mark of an artist is that he doesn't give up!

Thanks everyone so much!!!! Happy to hear that the blur and the colors were a real treat to your eyes. :D

@gaylewood - Thanks Gayle! So you know exactly what I had to go through to get this shot. Was thinking I could catch the blur in a few shots but hundreds of shots later I was still at it. But it's soooo hard for me to quit once I get started and the challenge did spur me on. :)

Awesome shot

Brilliant colours, especially on the white background. I tried to capture a similar thing, light trails on a moving pinball. Let's just say that it most certainly isn't easy. But I really like it as it is.
