Today was stormy. Neighboring counties had tornado warnings earlier in the day. I took my pics from an open window again. I really hope the weather is a better tomorrow.
This is the first Mourning Dove I've seen around the bird feeders this winter. They are ground feeders, so it was foraging in the grass for seeds that had fallen from the feeder. I think that's a millet seed in its mouth.
Thank you for your comments and faves on yesterday's cardinals!!! I hope you aren't getting tired of my bird pics. I will really be glad when its springtime and the butterflies are back. I have a birthday in March and I'm hoping to get a macro lens for my butterfly pics. :0)
Tornado warnings?!?!? That's crazy! Well, stay safe! Wonderful shot of your dove! I am enjoying your birdies. Mine are too quick and don't want to come down from the telephone lines. :0/
We'll never get tired of your bird pics! I was just talking about you to a friend last night actually, saying you'd perfected the art of butterfly photography, then cats, now birds. I'm wondering what's next:)
Beautiful! Staying warm is always good! We have so many doves...sometimes there are up to 10 all around the bird feeders waiting for the dropped seed. I do spread them some though! They are such a sweet bird!
Not sure how you can get that close to a butterfly, but I do not doubt that you can, and will in fact look forward to it. She's pretty, especially the blue ring around the eye.
